Laalten is beta software offered free of charge. These terms describe what you can expect from it and what is asked of you in return. They are meant to be read, so they are written plainly.

Beta status

Laalten is in closed beta until 1 August 2026 and is available to invited testers. Beta software changes often and can break. Features may be added, altered or removed, and there may be interruptions while things are fixed or deployed.

Your designs are yours

You keep every right you have in the designs you create and the files you export. Nothing here transfers ownership of your work, and we make no claim to it.

You are free to print what you make, keep it, give it away, or sell it. Laalten places no restriction on what you do with the objects you print.

Exporting publishes to the community library

Exporting a design publishes it to the community library, where other signed-in users can view and download it. This is deliberate and it is how the library is built, but it means an export is a public act. If a design should stay private, do not export it — the studio itself sends nothing anywhere.

By publishing, you allow other users to view, download and print your design, and you allow us to store and display it for that purpose. You can ask for any of your designs to be removed at any time and it will be.

What is asked of you

• Do not upload photos or text you have no right to, or that are unlawful or abusive.
• Do not attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service or its limits.
• Do not use another person's account, or share your beta access with someone uninvited.
• Do not use Laalten to design objects that would be illegal to make where you are.

Printing is your judgement

Laalten's printability checks — overhang angles, wall thickness, gaps, adhesion — are guidance produced by software, not a guarantee. A model that passes every check can still fail on your printer, and a design intended to hold a light fitting or water is your responsibility to verify before you rely on it. Check your own work, particularly anything involving mains electricity, heat, or liquids.

Access can end

Beta access may be withdrawn — most often because the beta itself ends, occasionally because these terms have been broken. If your access ends while you are signed in, the studio will sign you out and say so. You can ask for your data at any time, including after access ends.

No warranty

Laalten is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind. It is free beta software built by one person, and it may contain defects. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost work, wasted filament or print time, damaged equipment, or other indirect or consequential losses arising from its use.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Cost

Laalten is free during the beta. No payment details are collected and no billing system is active. If paid plans are introduced later, you will be told in advance, and nothing you already have will start charging you without your agreement.

Changes

These terms may change as the product does. The date at the top will change with them, and beta testers will be told directly about anything significant.
